About the museum
The Finnish Football Museum was founded in 1993 in Valkeakoski, in connection with the Myllysaaren museo, and officially opened on 27 August 1994. Behind the project was a group of former players from the football city. The museum is run by the Suomen Jalkapallomuseo ry association. The exhibition spaces were extensively renovated in 2016.
On display is a broad and growing collection of club and player trophies, commemorative gifts, medals and football equipment from various decades, as well as material on internationally known players. An important part of the museum is the Hall of Fame, the honour gallery of Finnish football, founded in 1993.
The museum has four departments, two exhibition halls, an auditorium and a meeting room. On display are, among other things, match shirts and a dressing room from the 1930s. The legendary Tehtaan kenttä stadium is about a 400-metre walk away.
