About the museum

In a narrow lane of Ermoupoli one of the factories that the capital of the Cyclades once had survives: the Zisimatos textile factory, which has remained as it was on the day it closed. The site was restored after several years of work by the non-profit organisation Hermoupolis Heritage and operates as a museum.

Visitors pass through the old factory door and learn about the life of the workers, the operation of the factory and the history of textile manufacturing in Ermoupoli.
