About the museum
The Paschaleios Scholi was founded in 1861 through the donation of the brothers Konstantinos and Pavlos Paschalis, merchants from Kapesovo who had acquired a large fortune in Russia. It was the largest school in Zagori and operated as the village school until 1985.
The Paschalis brothers endowed it with a rich library. Among its collections is one of the 13 surviving copies of the Charter of Rigas Feraios of 1797.
Today the village cultural association has arranged the ground floor to recreate the traditional Zagori house, and has gathered there a multitude of tools used in Zagori over the last two centuries. In this way the visitor is offered a kind of folklore museum.
