About the museum
The memorial museum devoted to two major Hungarian painters of the 20th century, the tragically fated Ámos Imre and his wife, Anna Margit, opened in 1984 in the former Paulovics House in Szentendre. The works came into the museum’s ownership as Anna Margit’s legacy, while the artist was still alive.
In 1991, in accordance with the artist’s wish, Anna Margit’s mortal remains were laid to rest in the museum’s garden. The museum is an exhibition venue of the Ferenczy Múzeumi Centrum. It is currently closed for renovation and operates as a community space and studio.
