About the museum
The Csepreg museum operates in six rooms of a 19th-century district court building beside the mayor’s office. The collection holds about a thousand objects.
The permanent exhibition “Csepreg története” (“History of Csepreg”) is arranged around the prehistoric finds, the Roman remains, the era of the Nádasdy family, the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848–49 and the Second World War. Among the more spectacular objects are a Celtic bracelet, a fireplace from the Ottoman occupation, weapons and powder flasks from 1848, and the ornate cast-iron stoves of the Kalán foundry from the Monarchy period.
