About the museum
The Egri Road Beatles Múzeum (Eger Road Beatles Museum) opened on 15 May 2015 in the building of the Hotel Korona Eger. It was founded by two friends, Peterdi Gábor and Molnár Gábor, who have been collecting Beatles-related sound recordings and relics for decades. Molnár Gábor is the author of the book Halhatatlan Beatles (The Immortal Beatles).
The exhibition presents several thousand objects of the collection on about 450 square metres, from the cellar to the upper floor. In the cellar, after a short film introduction, the history of the band can be followed in chronological order on multimedia walls.
At the press of a button, period newsreels, interviews and concert recordings start, and the band’s works can be heard on headphones. The display cabinets show period press products, clothing, models, limited-edition records and rarities; in addition there are replicas of instruments, the Sárga tengeralattjáró (Yellow Submarine) and a monumental representation of the Sgt. Pepper record, as well as photo opportunities for visitors. In 2021 the museum received the Eger Csillaga (Star of Eger) award.
