About the museum
Város a város alatt (City Under the City) is a visitable exhibition venue in a section of the historical cellar system of Eger. The entrance is on Városfal utca, in the former Gyertyás Borok Háza, which now houses the attraction called Időalagút (Time Tunnel).
The guided tour lasts about 45–50 minutes. The first part covers the history of the cellars and winemaking, the second part presents traditional crafts and occupations. The temperature in the cellar is constantly around 12 °C, so warm clothing is recommended.
