About the museum
The Fekete István Látogatóközpont (Fekete István Visitor Centre) is the nature-presentation venue of the Rippl-Rónai Múzeum in Kaposvár, on the shore of Lake Deseda (Deseda-tó) in Zaranypuszta. The permanent exhibition of the renewed visitor centre, “Békalencse, vízi pásztor, fakopáncs – A Deseda élővilága” (the wildlife of Deseda), presents the varied wildlife around the lake: display cases on both sides show typical plant, animal and fungus species of the waters, shores, marsh meadows and forests.
Species descriptions on tablets are supplemented by animal sounds. The services include the excursion boat, nature-education museum programmes (for example on the life of the reedbed, birds around Deseda, bees and other pollinators) and the weather station, whose measurements can be followed on the museum’s website.
