About the museum

The Békés museum preserves and presents the local history collection of the town. Its permanent exhibitions are the Vata Vára archaeological exhibition, the Durkó Emlékszoba (Durkó Memorial Room), the settlement history exhibition “Évszázadok viharában” (In the Storm of the Centuries) and the presentation on the bird life of the Körös region. The museum also includes the Békési Galéria (Békés Gallery) at Széchenyi István tér 4 and the Békési Tájház (Békés Village Heritage House) on Durkó utca.
