About the museum
The small town founded its museum in the early 1990s, although the collection of traditional peasant culture had begun already in the 1970s–80s. The collection holds several thousand ethnographic objects and documents, including significant ceramic, costume and textile material, archival photographs and postcards. In March 2002 it moved into the former Wenckheim–Fejérváry Castle and opened its permanent exhibition “Múltunk emlékei” (Memories of Our Past). In 2003, on the 280th anniversary of the town’s resettlement, the exhibition “Az együttélés 280 éve” (Coexistence) was created.
