About the museum
József Attila spent the last weeks of his life in Balatonszárszó, from 5 November to 3 December 1937, in the former Horváth Guesthouse on Villasor. Since 1957 the building has presented the life and work of the poet.
The permanent exhibition, “Idesereglik, ami tovatűnt” (What Has Vanished Gathers Again), focuses on the poet’s last period and looks back over his whole oeuvre. The material is enriched by items from the Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum (Petőfi Literary Museum) and from private collections.
