About the museum
Kecskéd and its surroundings were destroyed during the Turkish campaigns of 1529 and 1541; the area remained uninhabited for nearly two hundred years and in 1693 became part of the Esterházy estate. In 1744, Hungarian and German settlers arrived in the village from the area of Lake Fertő.
The heritage house has an ethnographic exhibition, and folk-knowledge lessons and activities are held here.
