About the museum
The Macskakő Gyermekmúzeum is a community space in the downtown Eggenberg House, drawing on the collections of the Soproni Múzeum. The interactive, discovery-based exhibition presents the everyday life of past ages through objects used then and now; in the inner courtyard of the listed building there is also a museum education workshop.
The permanent exhibition was awarded the title “Az Év Kiállítása” (Exhibition of the Year) in 2018, for presenting the museum collection playfully and with due regard for the particularities of childhood. For the youngest visitors, a much-needed space was created where they can discover the world of bygone ages in their own way.
