About the museum
The single-storey Classicist building, the former Vojnich Mansion, was built around 1820. From 1947 it housed the free academy and artists’ colony led by the painter Rudnay Gyula, and since 1985 it has operated as the Nagy István Képtár (Nagy István Picture Gallery). It presents the fine-art collection of the Türr István Múzeum (Türr István Museum).
Alongside the permanent exhibition, selections from the Oltványi collection and the Rudnay circle can be seen, as well as thematic exhibitions; once a year, a local or locally connected contemporary artist may also present their work.
