About the museum
The Jászberényi úti Tájház (Heritage House on Jászberényi Road) is the permanent local history exhibition venue of Nagykáta, maintained by the Városi Könyvtár és Művelődési Központ (Town Library and Cultural Centre). The exhibition presents the history of the settlement from the 1200s to the present day; alongside it, a peasant interior evokes the old domestic culture, and a separate room is devoted to a school of the 1950s.
The heritage house also displays works of local artists and collectors: the horsehair jewellery of Bodrogi Sándor (1912–1990), the legacy of Kármán László (1911–1991) and the plaques and medals of Sződy Szilárd (1878–1939). A film archive also belongs to the exhibition.
