About the museum
The museum operates in the Kincsem Lovaspark equestrian centre in Tápiószentmárton and preserves the memory of its namesake, Kincsem, the unbeaten wonder mare. Kincsem was born here in 1874 on the estate of Count Blaskovich Ernő; during her career she started in 54 races and won all of them, becoming one of the best-known figures in Hungarian horse breeding.
The exhibition consists of four rooms. The first contains weapons-history material, sculptures and archaeological finds, including the Scythian golden stag (aranyszarvas) found within the boundaries of Tápiószentmárton. The second room is a cross-section of an old peasant house, furnished with a best room, kitchen and pantry. The third room presents the life and work of Kocsi János with historical weapons, equestrian sculptures, memorabilia, a model of Attila’s wooden palace and a carriage. The last room is devoted to the life of Kincsem.
