About the museum
The museum, set up in the paprika processing plant of PaprikaMolnár Kft., presents the 200-year history of Szeged and Hungarian paprika culture. The word paprika emerged in the Szeged region and is known all over the world. The museum is a private exhibition, created for tourism, tradition-keeping and educational purposes; its special feature is that it is located in a working plant.
The visit includes the indoor exhibition with a film screening, the paprika and spice shop, visits to the biodiversity-friendly museum garden from spring to autumn, the mill viewing during the autumn processing season, and the Röszkei Rózsapaprika Nap (Röszke Rose Paprika Day). The exhibition texts are available in Hungarian, English and German; guided tours can be requested in Hungarian and English, and the presentation film is in Hungarian with English and Hungarian subtitles.
