Szegedi Hadipark

About the museum

The Hadipark was created so that young people, the growing generations and tourists can see the memorabilia of military life at close range, since Szeged no longer has an active military unit. The exhibition includes several armoured vehicles, helicopters and guns, among them the MI-24D combat helicopter, a T-55 tank and a 2SZ1 self-propelled gun. Visitors can view at close range the equipment of the former Hungarian People’s Army and the Hungarian Defence Forces (honvédség) that has been withdrawn from service and rendered inoperable.

In addition to the outdoor display, four indoor exhibitions linked to the four service branches can be visited. The park aims for children to get to know the recent history of military technology through play, for young people to broaden their knowledge, and for older visitors to experience nostalgia.
