About the museum
The Örökség Tájház building is a so-called long house (hosszúház) with a room–kitchen–room layout and a rear living section with a separate entrance, set at right angles to Kossuth Lajos utca. The listed folk monument was built in the first third of the 19th century and has undergone several conversions. It was built of stone set in mud and adobe; its “smoky” kitchen with an open chimney hood is particularly interesting.
The house presents Serbian and German minority interiors and costumes in two separate sections. The exhibition is supplemented by a small town-history display.
