About the museum
The heritage house building was originally a dwelling: the miner’s house, probably built in the middle of the 19th century, shows classicist features. The layout typical of folk architecture – room, kitchen/entrance, room, stable – was later supplemented by a lower annex at the rear; a smaller farm building also stands on the plot.
The main building serves as a presentation space: here the material remains of everyday life in the past can be seen, and display boards inform about the way of life, crafts, cultural and leisure opportunities of the population of Rudabánya in the 16th–20th centuries, as well as about notable people of Rudabánya. It stands on Gótikus út, away from the town centre.
