About the museum
The seat of the Vasúttörténeti Alapítvány (Railway History Foundation) is in the building of the MÁV (Hungarian State Railways) Szeged directorate, where part of the railway relics collection is displayed. In the display cases along the corridors of the building and in the rooms of the basement, there are many documents, locomotive models, uniforms, railway parts and tool sets.
During its thirty years of operation, the foundation has aroused the interest of many visitors – children, civilians and railway workers – in Hungarian railways. The interactive, professional guided tours offer an insight into the many-sided world of the railways.
