About the museum
The Kisújszállás village heritage house is in a very old house in the folk-classicist style. The building was owned by the Ábri family, whose records trace the history of the house back to 1676. The house was declared a folk monument in 1995, and since 1997 it has been open to visitors as a village heritage house.
A three-column porch (ámbitus) runs along the front of the house. To its right is the small pantry, where traditional household tools are displayed; to its left is the large pantry with farming equipment, the granary and the corn sheller. The living section is traditionally three-part: the street-side room is furnished with bourgeois furniture, and the inner room with peasant-bourgeois furniture of the late 19th century.
The village heritage house admits only visitors who have booked in advance.
