About the museum
The Falumúzeum (Village Museum) operates in the building of Törökbálint’s former Swabian restaurant, the Pertl-vendéglő (Pertl Restaurant). Part of the building opened to the public in 1996, with German support from the Hermann-Niermann Foundation of Düsseldorf, after the owner had concluded a lease with the local government for the presentation of the local history collection. The collection forms part of the Volf György Könyvtár és Helytörténeti Gyűjtemény (Volf György Library and Local History Collection).
The permanent exhibition shows a room and a kitchen furnished with furniture and everyday objects from local collections, as well as photographs recalling the past of the settlement. The middle room hosts temporary exhibitions, and the museum also offers local history programmes.
