About the museum
The nearly 300-square-metre exhibition is housed in the House of Hungarian Basketball (Magyar Kosárlabdázás Háza), the Budaörs headquarters of the Hungarian Basketball Federation (Magyar Kosárlabda Országos Szövetség). The museum is operated by the Magyar Kosárlabda Archívum Alapítvány (Hungarian Basketball Archive Foundation). The exhibition evokes the past with interactive elements and old film footage not seen elsewhere: the great personalities of the sport, the rulebook published 100 years ago, the minutes of the women's national team's first match, and the 1955 European Championship, won with gold.
The collection consists of more than three hundred objects, which were gathered with the support of basketball players and their family members, coaches, referees, clubs and sections.
