About the museum
The collection is located in Jászapáti on István király út, in the large-estate redemptus house of mansion-like character, built in 1803 by Vágó Ignác, Jász captain (jászkapitány). The building is characterised by thick walls, a hipped roof structure rising higher than the walls, and an open porch resting on three columns running along the courtyard façade. In the rooms of the residence, permanent exhibitions on various themes can be seen; their material was collected by the notary (jegyző) Bistey László in the years after the war. In the large hall, a fine arts, applied arts or local history exhibition that changes every month can be viewed.
