About the museum
The Vehiculum-ház is a public-interest museum collection and museum education venue in Besenyszög. Beyond the usual tasks of museum institutions – collecting, registration, preservation, research and exhibition – it is also a centre for tradition-keeping and research into local culture and a driving force of civic organisation in Besenyszög.
The name derives from the Latin word vehiculum, meaning carrier: in pharmacy, the vehicle that delivers the active ingredient into the body. In a similar way, the institution wishes to convey to people everything that our ancestors have left us, through its educational, cultural and community-development activities. Its programmes include museum education sessions and events of the Autumn Festival of Museums (Múzeumok Őszi Fesztiválja).
