About the museum
The museum operates in a noble manor house built in the 19th century in classicist style, which bears the name of the former owners, the Virágh family. The local history collection commemorates the rich social and religious life of the local Cumans (kunok), including photo documentation of the excavation of the Avar-period princely grave at Kunbábony and objects recalling the connection between Petőfi Sándor and Kunszentmiklós. Alongside everyday objects, the ethnographic collection presents the expressive means of material ethnography, and visitors can also get to know the wildlife of the Felső-Kiskunság (Upper Kiskunság). The collection was created from the collecting work of the local community.
