About the museum
The Palazzo Lusi in Greci was built in the 16th century by the Lusi family, of Greco-Albanian origin, and today houses the PLEAG, the archaeological exhibition inaugurated in 2009 as a project of the University “Suor Orsola Benincasa” in cooperation with the heritage authority (Soprintendenza). Greci is the only Arbëreshë municipality in Campania.
The exhibition presents finds from excavations carried out since 1999, dating from prehistory to the Roman period, which illustrate the strategic position of the territory in the Cervaro Valley, a crossroads between the Tyrrhenian and the Adriatic. Vessels, tools and other objects tell the story of the area before the arrival of the Arbëreshë community.
