About the museum
The museum house stands in the heart of Suni’s historic centre, in the “Mesu Idda” district, a short distance from the parish church. It is one of the few old houses in the village that still keep their original architectural forms, and it is named after “Tiu Virgiliu”, its last owner.
Over two floors, the route brings together more than a thousand pieces, objects and machines linked to the craft and agro-pastoral activities that characterised the village’s economy until the early 1950s, including the mill. The upper floor, built around the 1930s, comprises two bedrooms and a living room and offers a glimpse of family life.
A permanent photographic exhibition on the archaeological sites of the Suni area is also on show inside; thematic exhibitions are held periodically, such as those on bread, on the costume of Suni and on Sardinian games and toys.
