About the museum
The Nuraghe Seneghe stands in a commanding position over the wide Modolo valley, in the Planargia, just outside the village of Suni. It is a corridor structure with an irregular elliptical plan of about 16.5 × 15.2 metres, with a tower about 6 metres high built of large unworked basalt blocks laid in horizontal courses with reinforcing wedges. The main entrance faces south and a second entrance faces north; the two are connected by a straight corridor about 15 metres long, which has three niches, a staircase and a chamber with an angular appendix. The structure of the upper level can no longer be reconstructed.
The nuraghe has been known since the 19th century and is mentioned by Angius, Taramelli and later studies. It forms part of the Suni Archaeological Park route, which runs from the Chirisconis necropolis towards the Seneghe protonuraghe and the Nuraddeo plateau, and ends at the Tiu Virgiliu house museum.
