About the museum
The Casa Museo Al Belvedere is housed in the home where Pietro Ghizzardi (1906–1986), painter and writer, lived for the last twenty years of his life. It preserves various testimonies of the artist’s life and work.
One section is devoted to solo and group exhibitions from the 1960s onwards, when Ghizzardi’s output was “discovered” and began to circulate first in the province and then throughout Italy. Another section gathers documentaries and television and film productions about the artist, which bear witness to his work and to his simple yet perceptive personality.
The bibliographic section lists the writings published by Ghizzardi, critical contributions, essays and theses on his output. Other works by the artist are displayed in museums such as the Museo nazionale Naïfs di Luzzara.
