About the museum

The CLAP Museum (Comics Lab Art Pescara) was conceived by the Fondazione Pescarabruzzo and opened on 8 December 2022. It presents itself as the first Italian museum entirely devoted to the world of comics, and pays tribute to Andrea Pazienza and Tanino Liberatore, with a laboratory that runs comics courses.

The museum is spread over four floors connected by a semi-spiral staircase. The permanent collection is dedicated to Andrea Pazienza and comprises 324 works, including illustrations, paintings and sketches, displayed on floors 1 and 2; most of the pieces were acquired by the Foundation, while others were donated by Professor Sandro Visca.

A permanent section is the Archivio d’Artista Sandro Visca, dedicated to the work of the master from Abruzzo, with paintings, sculptures, tapestries and drawings organised into six thematic areas.
