About the museum
The Stara ethnographic collection was born from the work of Luigi Stara, who for more than forty years researched, collected and restored objects documenting life in the past and the people who used them. The aim is to preserve these objects as a memory, especially for young people.
The museum occupies a single room of about 300 square metres, organised into 26 sections. It houses household utensils and work tools from the farming, pastoral, seafaring and craft world of Bosa and the Planargia, between the 19th and the early 20th century. The trades represented include farmer, carpenter, blacksmith, fisherman, shoemaker, mason, shepherd, tailor, barber and the medical sector, with sacred furnishings and an armoury of weapons from past conflicts.
According to the regional portal, the variety and completeness of the sections help make known the culture, customs and habits of the past.
