About the museum
The EcoMuseo Nesta, described by its promoters as the urban ecomuseum of Turin North, is dedicated to prints and contemporary art. It grew out of the Fondo Nesta, established in autumn 2020 by Marcello Nesta and Walter Revello to preserve and continue the cultural work of the Nesta family: Paolo Nesta (who died in 2019), researcher, curator, collector and artist, and before him his parents Maria and Pasquale, scholars and educators.
The museum opened in June 2021 with an exhibition of unpublished works created for the “Diverse Diversità” call, in collaboration with the social promotion association Libere Gabbie, which runs it. The fund comprises studies, papers, works and materials collected by the family, which a team of young conservators is cataloguing in preparation for study and exhibition routes.
The museum's activities include temporary exhibitions, a library, competitions for young artists, training activities, theatre performances and free guided tours for individuals, groups and school classes on request. Opening times change every week to allow for events and initiatives; admission is always free.
