About the museum
La dòna de 'sti ani, which in dialect means “the woman of these years”, is a small ethnographic museum set up in Lasino, a village in the municipality of Madruzzo in the Valle dei Laghi. The idea was born in 2012, and the museum opened on 8 December 2014 in the vaulted rooms (avvolti) of the Lasino town hall.
The display recreates the rooms of a peasant house from the first half of the 20th century, in which the woman carried out the domestic tasks: housekeeping, laundry and the preparation of the trousseau. The kitchen is furnished with a hearth, a kitchen range, a table with four chairs, a display cabinet, a sideboard and traditional utensils; the bedroom includes a bed, several cradles, a flap-front chest of drawers and a wardrobe.
The furnishings, tools and household items come from donations by residents of Lasino, collected over the years. The museum has also been offered as an educational resource for the local schools.
