About the museum
The Museo del Novecento Lucano opened on 24 April 2016 and occupies the first two floors of Palazzo Aiello 1825, on the main street of Moliterno’s historic centre, at the corner with Vico Trinità. It is part of the MAM – Musei Aiello Moliterno museum system.
The collection documents the art of Basilicata in the 20th century. Alongside better-known names such as Luigi Guerricchio, Mauro Masi, Gaetano Pompa and Italo Squitieri, less well-known artists also have a place, including Cesare Colasuonno, Pasquale Virgilio and Giovanni Iacovino, to offer as complete a picture as possible of regional artistic trends.
