About the museum
The Centro Esposizioni is one of the venues of the Museo Diffuso Albisola (MuDA) and is located behind the church of Nostra Signora della Concordia, in Via dell'Oratorio. It is a multipurpose space that houses the civic art gallery, a library with a reading room and a conference hall, and is considered the centre of the village's cultural life.
After renovation and a new display, it was inaugurated in spring 2014, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Asger Jorn, the Danish artist who lived in Albisola.
The civic gallery of modern and contemporary art has no fixed collection: works are displayed on a rotating basis. Among the artists cited by the museum are Lucio Fontana, Asger Jorn, Pablo Picasso, Enrico Baj, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Wifredo Lam and Emilio Scanavino.
