About the museum
The museum occupies the studio-workshop of Aldo Sergiacomi (1912–1994), a sculptor born in Offida, which was extended to include nine rooms. After the artist’s death the premises were restored by his widow, Licia Antimiani, who turned them into a museum; the present display keeps the character she intended but arranges the works by theme.
The biographical room shows works created or altered mainly to furnish the artist’s home, together with musical and personal mementoes, and workshops and meetings are also held here. Another room is devoted to the route “Dall’idea alla realizzazione” (From Idea to Realisation); the third houses the sculptor’s small library and the sketches for the church of the Cuore Immacolato di Maria in Teramo, for which he decorated portals, Stations of the Cross (Via Crucis), altars and statues, as well as the sketch of the “Sogno del Pescatore” from San Benedetto del Tronto. The last room recreates the workshop, with the table and tools, and presents the models for the portals of the cathedral of Fermo and for works intended for Offida, Loreto and Ascoli Piceno.
