About the museum
The Offida museum complex is housed in Palazzo De Castellotti, in Via Roma, and brings several civic collections together in one building. The Museo archeologico “Guglielmo Allevi” holds finds from the Palaeolithic to the Neolithic, and from the Bronze Age to the Picene civilisation.
The Museo del merletto a tombolo (bobbin lace museum) tells the story of Offida’s lace tradition and has been housed in the palace since 1998. The Pinacoteca civica (civic picture gallery) displays, among other works, a Saint Lucy by Pietro Alemanno (1490) and a canvas by Simone de Magistris signed and dated 1589. The complex also includes the Museo delle tradizioni popolari (museum of folk traditions).
