About the museum
The Museo civico della paleontologia e dell'uomo di Lizzano, known by the acronym MUPAU, is housed in Palazzo Majorano on Piazza IV Novembre. It is a museum of mixed character, combining a palaeontological collection with two sections on the history and traditions of the area.
The palaeontological part displays fossils from various parts of the planet, alongside specimens found in the area during archaeological excavations.
