About the museum
The museum is housed in the Liceo Artistico “Vincenzo Calò”, the former Istituto d'Arte of Grottaglie founded in 1887, in the Quartiere delle Ceramiche. It was established in the 1937–38 school year for educational purposes, to document local ceramic production and the history of the school.
The collection includes over 300 pieces of local production, from the 17th century to the present day, alongside selected works by teachers and pupils of the school. The museum represents the continuity between craft tradition, training and the search for new forms of expression.
