About the museum

The museum is located in the tower of the Castello Dal Verme in Romagnese, which also houses the municipal offices. It is an ethnographic museum that grew out of donations by village families of everyday objects and work tools from old workshops and farmers’ homes.

On entering, visitors come to a room that recreates a farmer’s house, with objects from everyday life. In the main hall, tools are arranged by trade and craft and show how artisans and farmers worked and produced their subsistence food. Each year, temporary photo exhibitions on local traditions and the area are staged in the central mezzanine.
