About the museum
The civic archaeological museum of Modica is named after the Modican intellectual Franco Libero Belgiorno (1906–1971) and was inaugurated in 2003. It is housed in the Palazzo della Cultura, on Corso Umberto I, in the former Benedictine monastery built between the 16th and 19th centuries. The building housed the law courts from 1862 to 2003 and still accommodates some municipal offices.
The sources consulted do not describe the collections or opening hours in detail. For up-to-date information on visiting, it is advisable to contact the Comune di Modica.
