About the museum
The museum commemorates the Battle of Vezza d'Oglio of 4 July 1866, fought during the Third War of Independence: Austrian troops coming down from the Tonale Pass met the Corpo Volontari Italiani led by Giuseppe Garibaldi.
The museum room is on the first floor of the Torre Federici, part of the former palazzo of the noble Federici family, who held the title of counts and governed Vezza and the neighbouring villages from the late Middle Ages into the modern era. The second floor of the tower houses the municipal library.
The permanent display brings together weapons, uniforms, flags and objects connected with the battle. Visits are possible by appointment.
