About the museum
The Museo del Cavallo e degli Attrezzi Rurali is housed in the premises of the amateur sports association Gruppo Ippico Scledense in Schio. It presents tools and implements that are no longer in use, once employed in field work and daily life, and it is designed to be understandable for children too.
The collection numbers around six hundred objects, including 86 prints of horse breeds with accompanying information cards, 22 books about horses and 118 panels. On display are bits, spurs, saddles and other riding accessories, harnesses for horses and donkeys, military objects and footwear.
One part of the exhibition presents rural tools for the hearth, ploughing, pruning, wood, hay, grain and cooking, while a section is devoted to objects and documents from the First World War.
