About the museum
The museum was founded in 2006 to preserve the memory of the industrial and mining archaeology of the Alto Vicentino through photographs, finds and samples. The collection reflects the activity of the Gruppo Mineralogico Scledense, founded in 1973.
The route is divided into two sections. The first is devoted to geology and mineralogy and comprises the lithology of the territory, systematic mineralogy, the minerals of the Vicenza area and a corner of curiosities with synthetic and fake minerals.
The second tells the story of kaolin, its extraction and processing, with tools, laboratory instruments, samples from the Val Mercanti and the Tretto, and photographs of the processing cycle; one room is dedicated to the Società Caolino Panciera.
