About the museum
The Museo del Cavallo in Pozzomaggiore is housed in a building that hosted an Augustinian convent from the beginning of the 17th century until the second half of the 19th century, and was later used as a barracks for mounted carabinieri.
The route unfolds across ten themed rooms in which the horse serves as a common thread through historical, anthropological and ethnographic themes. The Pesarin donation completes the collection with lintels, capitals, columns and jambs in worked stone, recovered by the donor to save them from demolition linked to the renewal of the historic centre, and later entrusted to the Municipality.
The museum offers guided tours for individuals and groups, opens on the occasion of local festivals and events, and hosts temporary exhibitions and cultural events.
