About the museum
The Nuraddeo nuraghe stands in the centre of the Pedrasenta plateau, in the Planargia, in north-western Sardinia. It is a complex nuragic structure formed by a keep surrounded by a bastion of three towers linked by straight curtain walls; remains of the village are visible all around. The keep, about 16 metres high, is well preserved.
The main entrance, recently cleared of a collapse by an excavation campaign, leads into an open courtyard with a pentagonal and curvilinear plan, from which a corridor more than two metres long starts. The last courses of the keep have a vertical alignment, a unique case in Sardinia, and preserve part of the terminal section of the tower on which the large stone corbels supporting a circular gallery were set; these are still visible in the archaeological area.
The monument has been known since the 19th century, when it was mentioned by Vittorio Angius in the Dizionario di Casalis, and it appears on Taramelli's archaeological map of 1935; later studies are due to Alberto Moravetti. It forms part of the route of the Suni archaeological park, together with the Seneghe nuraghe and the Chirisconis necropolis.
