About the museum
The museum is housed in a palace built in 1763 by the Cumano brothers, in the centre of Vaccarizzo Albanese, an Arbëresh-tradition municipality, that is, one of the communities of Albanian origin settled in Calabria.
The permanent exhibition presents original costumes grouped by area of origin; among them stands out the festive dress of Vaccarizzo, recognisable by its characteristic pink colour and its particular hairstyle. On the upper floor, replicas of ancient Arbëresh jewellery are on display.
