About the museum
The museum occupies the 14th-century chapels of San Nicolò and of the Corpo di Cristo and the baptistery adjoining Udine Cathedral. The site is run by the cathedral parish and is dedicated to Blessed Bertrand of Saint Geniès, patriarch of Aquileia.
The chapel of San Nicolò holds frescoes painted by Vitale da Bologna in 1348–49. The route also includes three late 14th-century tempera panels depicting Blessed Bertrand, sacred vestments including the Blessed's funeral vestments, goldwork from the cathedral treasury and a marble arca (tomb chest) from the mid-14th century.
The rooms are arranged in sections (baptistery, subsequent rooms and upper rooms) and complement a visit to the cathedral and the nearby church of the Purità.
